"Randy takes us to an entirely new level of understanding about how our head creates our world"
Stephen R. Covey

Randy J. Gibbs is an international expert on the powerful connection between our inner vision and our ability to produce significant change, both personally and in organizations. His life and work powerfully illustrates the truth that our head creates our world.

After receiving a Masters in Counseling from the University of Utah, Randy began his professional career as a marriage and family therapist. In due time, his deepening interest in the processes of transformational change expanded from an individual to a larger organizational context. This led him to earn a second masters degree from Brigham Young University in Organizational Behavior. This unique mix of educational training in personal and organizational change enables Randy to cover the variety of elements in the process of creating change.

After Brigham Young, Randy worked for Hewlett-Packard as Manager of Management and Organizational Development at a large manufacturing site. After several successful years, he was invited to join the Regional staff of RJR Nabisco where he worked as Regional Director of Sales Performance. His work with Nabisco expanded into teaching critical skills required to help clients succeed through solution selling. After working with Nabisco, Randy was next asked to join the management team of the Covey Leadership Center in Provo, Utah. He and his colleagues laid the foundation to launch the highly successful Seven Habits of Highly Effective People in 1989.

After three years of teaching executives principles of leadership, Randy found that teaching people engaging ideas was necessary but insufficient for lasting change. “My clients were asking me for more,” recalls Randy. “They loved what we taught. However, once the workshop was finished they were unable to apply the ideas they so easily embraced.” In an effort to help meet his clients’ needs, Randy launched his own consulting practice in 1992.

Gibbs Consulting Inc. is a broad base training and business-consulting firm focused on creating tailored solutions that exactly meet a client's needs. Successful client projects include sales performance tools and methods for technology sales professionals such as building high performance teams and creating culture change. “Measuring the effectiveness of our work is central to our success,” remarks Randy. “If you don’t know where you are, it is impossible to know if things are improving.”

In 1998, Randy’s highly anticipated book 20/20 Insight was released to great acclaim. Endorsed by Tony Robbins, Stephen Covey, Brian Tracy and Dennis Waitley, 20/20 Insight gained instant success. This insightful book helps people see the great possibilities in their lives to which they are so often blind.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Randy was born fully sighted. At age 12 he was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a rare retina disease which robbed him of all his central vision and left him partially sighted and legally blind. Though a life of great challenge lay ahead, the adversity also set Randy on a quest to better understand inner vision – not the vision of the physical eye, but the more profound eye of the heart. Says Gibbs, “The single most powerful ingredient in any change process is our ability to see things in a new way. Blind to the possibilities, we are transformed through seeing things as they really are and really can be. Illuminating insight is greatly underrated.” Randy lives in Orem, Utah with his wife Cindy and their three children. He enjoys many outdoor sports, reading and tropical vacations.
